FROM THE FILE OF THE ASSISTANT STATE DIRECTOR Our Spring SAMBOREE has come and gone once again. I think we all need to THANK OUR HOST CHAPTERS, HEART LAND SAMS and JESSIE JAMES WHEELERS for all their hard work. I would also like to give special thanks to all the other state staff for the outstanding jobs they did.Thank all of you (GOOD SAM MEMBERS) for making one of the best and largest SAMBOREES yet. Remember the Fall SAMBOREE in Fairbault. Lets see if we can out do our spring Samboree. All of our new chapters are doing well and are working hard on membership, getting organized, scheduling camping dates. June will be a busy month for for Pam and I. We are heading for the Canadian, Wisconsin, and South Dakota Samborees. After all that, we will be going back to the Black Hills of South Dakota for some pure relaxation. In July I hope to work on starting several more Chapters and then it will be time to attend the "ROCK THE CLOCK SAMBOREE", in Fairbault. Pam and I hope to see many of you at the SAMBOREE in August. Don't forget to check out our Web Page at;www.mngoodsamclub.com
My name is Allan (Al) and my wife Joan (Jo) Lawrence and we have resided in Grand Rapids MN for over 27 years, of which 6 1/2 were retirement years. We were excited to be asked by Jim and Jerry Niedzielski last April, 2003 to the State Wagonmaster starting with the 2003 Spring Saroboree in Farmington. With the Samboree only about 4 weeks away, there was a bunch of questions I asked, good answers recieved and help from a number of people who had prior experience to get this new venture off to a good start, The Heart Land and Jessie James Wheelers Sams, the host Chapters for the Samboree, were pros when it comes to setting up parking spaces and starting out the first couple of days of parking RV's. I can,t thank them enough for the help they gave and the great people they are. THANK YOU!!!. As the Samboree progressed into Thur and Fri, the chapters that helped with the greeting and Parking and made constructive suggestions as to how to find tune the system that was being used and that made things go even better. With the experience of being Wagonmaster for the 2003 Spring Samboree, my hope is to do even better at the 2003 Fall Samboree and with the great help that is going to be there again, I,m sure this will happen.
THE TALE OF THE WEBMASTER We are well into the camping season now. The Spring Samboree was a success, they even got the weather right this time. This is as good time as any to explain the functions of our Web Site. There you can find a great deal of information about our State Organization and also the local Chapters. This your Web Site, if you find any errors or outdated information, a message to the Web Master would take care of it, Addresses for the State Director, Assistant State Director, and Chapter Presidents are all there and E-Mail addresses can be added and in my opinion should be there. All available Samboree information is there including including Samboree and Vendor Registration forms. The 2003 Chapters camping schedule with the available information is there, again, if any chapter wants to supply the missing information, just hit the"WEBMASTER" button and send the missing information. Also I have posted a copy of the January 2003 Minnie-Trails, so if you need some information and cannot find your copy Just go to the Web Site. Any suggestions to improve the site are always welcome. Happy Camping.
