We would like to thank you for the many cards and notes of support during this trying time. We were looking forward to working with all of you, and to many joyous times. You are a wonderful group, and we are very sorry to have to give this up; however, due to a serious health problem - we cannot give the job of MN State Director the time and attention that is needed to make MN Good Sam a success. We have sent our resignation to Headquarters, and they will be conducting a special election. Your Chapter Presidents will be receiving nomination forms very soon - if they haven't by the time you receive this newsletter. We will be continuing with plans for the Samboree which will go on as scheduled. We hope you will support whoever is elected, and we wish everyone the best! Thank You! Gene & Sheila Mehling

The address information for this newsletter is taken directly from your 2004 Roster membership forms as submitted. Each Chapter must send in corrections or additions to the State Director or Secretary - to keep our mailing list current.
| The deadline is coming for 2004 Scholarship Applications. All applications must be received by May 1, 2004. Remember the requirements as established by the Chapter Presidents state the nominator must be a current Chapter member of the MN Good Sam Club, must have attended 2 MN State Samborees within the last 2 years and be a parent or a grandparent of the nominee. The nominee must apply for the scholarship during their Senior year of high school. If you have any questions, or need scholarship application packets, please contact: Joe Edstrom, Scholarship Chairman 602-578-8673 or Gene Mehling, State Director at 507-754-5373. Chapter or individual donations may be sent to the State Treasurer, or be presented at the State Samboree.
From the Desk of State Treasurer Jennet Anderson I had hoped you might find it appropriate to have a new Treasurer for 2004 after the illness that struck me last year. I am happy to do the job again for another two years. If I need help I will most certainly ask for it. Looking forward to new things at each Samboree. I am anticipating a Samboree I wasn't able to attend in St. Peter in 2002. I'm anxious to see all the friends we have made at the past Samborees I attended, and especially the new people from the new Chapters. All of us "old" ones will welcome you with open arms & hugs! Send me your registrations as soon as possible, so we can get you in line. I do take calls when it gets close to the Samboree. We are looking forward to a good year, please - all of you stay healthy!! I will try to also!! See you May 2004!!! |
